Caravan of Peace in Oslo!

Caravan of Peace in Oslo, Norway
Today Jettegryta barnehage invaded their local library, Deichman Holmlia, with their Caravan of
peace. Their goal was to bring thoughts of peace to their local community.
Anita Berge, who is the manager of Jettegryta, learned about Carovana dei Pacifici while working
as a volunteer at Biblioteca Ibby Lampedusa last fall. She saw the local children make peace dolls
for the children in the refugee camp and thought it was a beautiful project.
Jettegryta kindergarten has 70 children from age 1-6, and they speak over 25 different languages.
They have worked with reflecting on their peace sentences in many different languages and also
through using pictures and other artifacts. The children really enjoyed making their dolls, and took
them for walks in the community before the exhibition at the library.
The exhitibition at the library will last for a week, hopefully bringing joy and peace to many other
children – and hopefully inspiring more Norwegian kindergartens to join the caravan.

La Carovana dei Pacifici arriva a Oslo, in Norvegia. Oggi la scuola Jettegryta barnehage ha invaso la biblioteca locale, Deichman Holmlia, con i loro pacifici. L’obiettivo era portare pensieri di Pace alla comunità. Anita Berge, manager di Jettegryta, ha scoperto la Carovana durante l‘Ibby camp a Lampedusa lo scorso autunno. Ha visto i bambini della zona realizzare i pacifici per il campo d’accoglienza profughi e ha pensato che fosse un progetto speciale. La scuola dell’Infanzia Jettegryta è formata da 70 bambini di età da 1 a 6 anni e si parlano oltre 25 lingue diverse. Hanno lavorato sui significati di pace nelle diverse lingue e poi anche attraverso immagini e rappresentazioni grafiche. I bambini si sono divertiti nel realizzare le loro bamboline pacifiche e prima di portarle in biblioteca le hanno fatte girare per il quartiere. La mostra in biblioteca durerà una settimana con la speranza di donare gioia e Pace ai molti che la vedranno e di essere fonte di ispirazione per altre scuole norvegesi affinchè possano realizzare le loro carovane.
